I know its old news but its a year on and I’m still buzzing at being selected for a general prize in the worldwide M.I.L.K photography competition.

There are so many beautiful photos of love, kindness,.  There were 40,000 images submitted overall.. needless to say its an incredible honor to have even been considered.

Elliot Erwitt is one of my all time heros, I can’t believe he looked at my photo.  Cheers Elliot

I have been taking it rather easy on the work front lately this is the reason..

This is my new darling girl Astrid.

She came on her first shoot to Photograph the beautiful Ondine and Anita Mcleod from Martha’s Pantry for the Aug/Sept cover for Fishhead Magazine when she was just 10 days old.

Styling: Samantha Hannah

I have dabbled in a bit of editorial photography lately, something I haven’t tried before.  and.. I think I like it.

I definitely like the magazine, its great to have a local relevant mag with awesome articles by like-minded people.

The name of the mag is growing on me, its interesting to hear different reactions, I must say reading the article on how they named it definitely helped.

I had the ( I wish I could call it pleasure) of photographing 3 of the pioneers of the coffee craft in Wellington, and I must say they were hard work.  I’m pretty happy with the photo, it made the cover which is pretty awesome.

I am really looking forward to shooting the next cover tomorrow morning, can’t say who, can’t say where.. but I can say that Samantha Hannah will be there and it will be YUM.

and a couple of my pics in the first issue.

Well its a whole week since the wedding show, and I still think about it every time I blink.

I really enjoyed it in the end, it was quite refreshing to meet so many people who seemed to ‘get’ what I am about.  Who appreciated my style and made the sort of comments I strive for.  The feedback was fantastic and I will defiantly be going back next year.  I didn’t meet one single bridezilla ( that was my biggest fear).

I think in part most of it was due to having Teresa my BFF there singing my praises, she knows what she’s talking about.. I have photographed both her wedding and her Boudoir session.

Also being next to the Amazing Travelling Photobooth helped too, Dion and his amazing photo taking machine caused a blockage in the traffic and forced people to hang around and take a longer look at beautiful ladies adorning my walls.  Cheers Dion.

The actual reason for this post is to announce the winner of the Engagement Shoot …   the prize first. .. is a free Engagement shoot with a 5×7″ print in a bespoke frame made by Sam Broad.  and the winner is …  Megan Howard, congratulations Megan !!

Below are a few more photos from Teresa’s wedding, more recent weddings coming really soon.

Well, its 6.30am on the day of the wedding show…  and I have just logged on to the net because my beautiful boudoir site has just gone LIVE!

I’m so in love with it I can’t belive it.

Thank you so much Lorin you are quite amazing.

I’m sure you will love it as much as I do.

Today is my first wedding show, I’m  not entirely sure what to expect, but I’m sure it will be a laugh.  I’m also sure that at 7 months pregnant I’m going to be entirely exhausted after..

Here goes.  See you there

ps.. THANKS LOZ

I just checked out the current issue of Engaged mag again, and I have some of my fav church photos in there. Thanks Johanna and Nick and Hannah and Nick.. my their names are rather similar.

Late in 2009 I got my first booking through the article in Wellington Woman about my boudoir photography. I think it was my most beautiful boudoir shoot yet. I thought it was about time I shared a couple of the images with you.
Thanks so much to my stunning subject, it was such a fun shoot, she is such an amazing woman, as you can see for your self.

Well, it would seem that I have had writers block…. for the past 3 months. It kicked in the minute my blog was set up and ready to go.
I don’t imagine this will be the last time this happens, me not being too much of a writing lady.
Its obvious to me why I take photos, and there will be plenty of those.

For now, welcome to my photo blog, I would love to hear your thoughts at any stage.
Enjoy the show.

First up…. I made it on to the cover of Engaged magazine! Yay. I arrived home from a lovely West Coast road trip with my wee family to an email from Grant (the silver fox on the cover)saying someone at work found him on there. Yay, someone saw it !!

www.engaged.co.nz (it should be in the archives soon)

The first pic was on the cover.

Its quite wonderful seeing my images laid up by someone else, I think they did a really great job, and am proud to have been featured.

I have 1 week of holidays until we head back to Wellington for a busy and rather exciting year, and I intend to enjoy every moment.
I will have some fresh wedding pics to upload when I get back… along with all the things that I saved from last year.

Until then. Have fun xx
